Yemeni qishr (kishr, gishr) is a type of coffee made by steeping the coffee husks. It is light in flavor and resembles a tea more than regular coffee. Spices such as cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves are often added. Sugar may be added to taste.
1 Cup Coffee Husks (Qishr)
3 Cups of Water
2 tsp. grated ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. caraway
sugar to taste (I used 1/4 c.)
1. Bring water to boil on the stove.
2. Add coffee husks, ginger, cinnamon, caraway and sugar.
3. Boil for approx. 10 mins until the coffee turn golden brown.
